Derry Magistrate's Court
A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with 19 domestic violence offences against the same female.
Kelibe Jones (27) of Balbane Pass in Derry appeared charged with an array of offences including non-fatal strangulation, grievious bodily harm with intent, criminal damage and threats to kill.
All of the offences were alleged to have occurred on dates in May this year.
A police officer connected the accused to the charges and opposed bail.
The court heard police received a 999 call from the alleged victim relating to her boyfriend, Jones.
She told the court that she had been subjected to 'physical and psychological abuse' since beginning the relationship just three months ago.
The female described Jones as 'full on' but said violence was a 'daily occurrence'.
She said that Jones had threatened to kill her and also kill himself if she left him.

On one occasion she said he sent her a video of him taking tablets.
The woman also said Jones tad threatened to burn her property with her in it and had thrown a fire extinguisher at her.
At interview Jones claimed the woman had attacked him on occasions and the court heard the defendant had injuries.
Bail was opposed due to the risk of reoffending and risk of interference with witnesses and the officer said the situation seemed to be 'escalating'.
The officer said that proposed address was 'too close' and said if bail was to be considered it should be to an address well outside the city.
Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said there was no address available outside the city.
He said this was 'a concerning case' regardless of who was believed.
The solicitor said that the defendant 'spoke freely' to police during interview.
Deputy District Judge John Connolly said he would grant bail to an address approved by the PSNI, he imposed a curfew and a tag.
Jones will appear again on June 26.
