A busy back kitchen at Dove House on Wednesday morning saw an Air Fryer Masterclass with the renowned Seana McCafferty in a two-hour demonstration that dished up loads of fancy dishes and some tasty bites for all in attendance.

Over 20 ladies took up the free offer to come along and see ‘Seana McAirfryer’ at work on the implement she has mastered for a number of years now. And there was also a chance to ask questions, sample some savoury delicacies cooked on the Airfryer and have some fun.

The event showcased how to use an airfryer, how to create simple healthy meals at low cost and the intention was to give those in attendance the opportunity to learn quick and easy recipes along with nutritional support from Seana,

Wednesday’s event was organised by Dove House and Meenan Square Developments. And funded by The Executive Office as part of their Urban Villages Programme.

The Urban Villages Initiative is a key action within the Northern Ireland Executive’s ‘Together: Building a United Community’ (T:BUC) strategy. It is designed to improve good relations outcomes and to help develop thriving places where there has previously been a history of deprivation and community tension.

Event organiser and manager at Dove House, Jayne Quigg said she was delighted with the turnout for Wednesday’s successful event.

‘It was great to see a packed house for the Airfryer Masterclass. Seana was so relaxed and made everyone feel comfortable. That makes for a relaxed but fun environment, enjoyed by all those who attended. She not only served up some delicious dishes but had us all in stitches on many occasions.’

Feedback after the event was extremely positive to Dove House and Jayne added that it was encouraging to see so many people wanting to learn more how they can get the most from their house appliances and eat well.

One of the participants, Ann Devine described the enjoyment on Wednesday morning, stating: ‘It was an excellent morning’s entertainment. I enjoyed every minute, from the food, to the company and listening to Seana, it’s been great. I’ve also learned so much that I can’t wait to get cracking on my new airfryer. A big thank you to Dove House today for also printing us all out some of the recipes to take home with us and try out.’
