Addiction recovery service ARC Fitness, has announced the return of its ‘3k Colour Dash’ on Saturday, June 14, as a pivotal component of its ongoing 'Iron Sharpens Iron' campaign.
The family-friendly event, which is sponsored by Pennyburn Credit Union and ‘The National Lottery Community Fund NI’, will kick off at 1.00pm from DESTINED on Foyle Road, with participants of all ages being invited to walk, jog, or run the 3k route.
Entry to the Colour Dash costs just over £10 with every participant receiving a goodie bag containing a t-shirt, sunglasses, colour packs, and water, which is being donated by Tesco.
Gary Rutherford, founder of ARC Fitness said: “"We’re absolutely thrilled to officially announce the return of our much-loved ‘3k Colour Dash’ for 2025. This event has grown to become one of the highlights of our year, not just for the ARC team, but for our wider supporting community.
What we believe makes this event truly special is that while everyone is there to have fun, there is also a purpose behind it. Every step taken and every splash of colour represents support for individuals on their recovery journey and we believe in breaking down stigma, building resilience, and showing those in recovery that they’re not alone.

So gather your friends, your family, your neighbours, come along, get messy and have a laugh. We’d love to see you there.”
The Derry based organisation is hosting the ‘3k Colour Dash’ as part of their year long ‘Iron Sharpens Iron’ campaign, which was created with the belief that “addiction is a battle no one should fight alone”. Through a series of events and initiatives across 2025 ARC aims to empower those struggling with addiction to believe that they can break the cycle of isolation and foster strength through connection.
Registration and entry pack collection will be open from 12 noon on the day. This will be followed by a safety briefing before the run itself commences at 1pm.
Also set to be present at the Colour run is food from Lo & Slo BBQ , craft coffee from Hyve Coffee, face painting, a DJ and more.
