Man returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on drug charges

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a series of drug charges. 

The man who had previously been granted anonymity appeared at a Preliminary Enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court today. 

He faced a series of drug charges including possession of a quantity of drugs on Christmas Day December 25 2023.

He was also charged with a series of  being concerned in the supply of drugs charges on dates between October 31 and December 25 2023.

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

The man said he did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. 

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on June 18 and released on continuing bail.
