A 'family fall out' has led to a woman getting a conditional discharge at Derry Magistrate's Court after she assaulted a woman giving her a lift.

Lisa Matthewson (32) of Circular Road in Derry admitted a charge of assault that occurred on December 11 2023.

The court heard that the victim, who was related to the defendant had offered Matthewson a lift.

An argument developed and the victim said she had been grabbed by the hair and punched in the face.

The car then stopped and the victim sought help and the defendant ran off.
