Derry Magistrate's Court
A judge has said a Derry man 'had been on the wind' since 2023 after he failed to turn up for his case in November 2023.
Joseph Muldoon (27) of Clon Dara in Derry had a warrant issued for his arrest after he failed to turn up for his case involving driving offences dating from March 25 2023.
A police officer said that this was the second warrant for the defendant.
Defence solicitor Keith Kyle told the court that at the time Muldoon had 'various health difficulties' including a fractured spine.
He said that people had told Muldoon he was going to prison and he was 'fearful' of not being able to cope incarcerated.

District Judge Ted Magill told Muldoon that if he had health difficulties he should have informed his solicitor.
The judge said Muldoon had not made himself available to probation since 2023.
He warned the defendant that this was his 'last chance' and if he did not co-operate with probation in compiling a pre-sentence report he would be sentenced without one.
He was released on bail and will be sentenced on June 6.
