Politics students from St Cecilia’s College attended a special event in Derry last week to mark the eighth anniversary of Martin McGuinness’ passing.
Year 12 history and year 13 politics students attended an evening at the Ebrington Hotel, where they listened to First Minister Michelle O’Neill share her journey in politics and reflect on the invaluable lessons she learned from the late Martin McGuinness.

It was an insightful and deeply moving discussion, offering students a unique perspective on leadership, legacy, and the power of political change.
A spokesperson for St Cecilia's said: “It was also a fantastic opportunity for our students to meet Michelle O’Neill and Gerry Adams, making the evening even more memorable.
“A heartfelt thank you to Councillor Aisling Hutton and the Martin McGuinness Peace Foundation for the invitation and for creating such a meaningful learning experience for our students.”
