Two people are being treated for serious injuries after being struck by a car in Letterkenny.
The incident occurred at Lower Main Street in the town at around 3am on Monday.
Gardaí say two male pedestrians were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver of the car, a male aged in his late teens, was arrested at the scene and remains in garda custody.
The Garda press office said the incident has been referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission due to an earlier interaction between gardaí and the driver of the car involved.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination by forensic collision investigators and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the area between 2.30am and 3.30am on Monday, March 17 are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
In particular, gardaí are appealing to anybody who was in the area between Dry Arch Roundabout and Oldtown Road at the time.
