Man been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on series of drug charges

The man, who had been granted anonymity due to the threat existing in the city, appeared at a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrates' Court.  He faced a total of 13 drug charges including being concerned in the offer to supply cocaine

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a series of drug charges. 

The man, who had been granted anonymity due to the threat existing in the city, appeared at a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrates' Court. 

He faced a total of 13 drug charges including being concerned in the offer to supply cocaine on April 18, 2023.

He was also charged with with similar charges in relation to cannabis on June 11, 2023.

The man was also charged with possessing offensive weapon on the same date. 

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 

The man said he did not want to make any statement or call any witnesses at this stage.

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on April 10 and remanded in custody.
