Join Hilary Duddy in Taking on the Air Ambulance NI 5K Run at City of Derry Airport

The local community is invited to join Hilary Duddy in a very special event – the Air Ambulance NI 5K Run at City of Derry Airport on Saturday, 5th April. This unique event promises not only a memorable experience, but the chance to raise much-needed funds to support a cause close to Hilary’s heart: the Air Ambulance NI Charity.

Hilary, who was a patient of the Air Ambulance team following a serious motorcycle accident almost six years ago, knows firsthand the vital difference this service makes. After suffering a bleed on the brain from the crash on the Glenshane Pass, Hilary’s life was saved by the rapid response and expert care of the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service team.  The medics were with Hilary in minutes and treated her on the Glenshane Pass before bringing her to hospital for definitive care.  Now, having made a remarkable recovery, Hilary is preparing to take on her very first 5K run and is encouraging the local community to join her.

This event will take place at City of Derry Airport, with a flat, easy-to-navigate route that is perfect for participants of all fitness levels. The entry fee of £25 includes a special event t-shirt, medal, and the satisfaction of knowing that your support is helping to keep the helicopter flying, ready to respond to emergencies across the region.

The funds raised by participants will directly support the essential work of the Air Ambulance NI, a lifesaving service that relies on public donations to maintain its operation. By taking part, you will be helping to ensure that more lives can be saved in the future.
