Hilary Daddy was saved by Air Ambulance after "her world literally turned upside down."

Air Ambulance Northern Ireland urges the people of Derry to get involved at two upcoming fundraising events to raise money for people like Hilary Duddy.

There will be a 5km City of Derry Runway Run on Saturday 5th April and a 'Party at the Paddock' BBQ party event on Saturday 3rd May.

One patient who's life was saved by Air Ambulance Northern Ireland was Hilary Duddy from L’Derry who was on her way to a charity event in Belfast on her motorbike travelling along the Glenshane Pass when she came off her bike and "her world literally turned upside down."

Hilary had a bleed on the brain so having the medical team arrive quickly by air ambulance really made a difference.

Hilary said, “I was in hospital for 3 weeks and have recovered well. Knowing that the Glenshane was turned into an intensive care unit is quite remarkable! As a biker, I was always aware of the air ambulance service but never expected to need it.”

The 5km run event will give participants the chance to race down the runway at City of Derry Airport in a one-of-a-kind setting to raise funds for this important service.

For just £25, participants can sign up and receive a tech top and a medal upon completion – making this an affordable and fun challenge for runners of all levels.

All proceeds raised from the event will go directly to supporting the life-saving work of Air Ambulance NI.

People are urged to sign up now before the closing date of 17th March.

The 'Party at the Paddock' event will see participants join Air Ambulance NI for a party with the NW200 Association.

The party will take place at the unique NW200 corporate marquee at Portstewart.

This BBQ event promises to be an evening of fun, entertainment, and community spirit.

Enjoy live music from a fantastic band, groove to tunes spun by a DJ, and bid on exclusive items during the auction.

The event will be hosted by the charming Stephen Watson and is a perfect opportunity to socialise with friends, family or work colleagues while raising funds for a great cause.

Tables of 10 are available for £500, offering a premium experience for a group of supporters.
