The AK-47 rifle seized by police
Two men charged in connection with the finding of a firearm police have linked to the New IRA have been returned for trial to the Crown Court in Belfast.
Martin Burke (60) of Lone Moor Gardens and Patrick James Collett (56) of Rossnagalliagh both in Derry appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court.
They are both charged with possessing an AKM 7.62 rifle with intent to endanger life on May 21 last year.
They are also charged with possessing the same weapon in suspicious circumstances on the same date.
It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

Neither defendant wanted to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.
They were returned for trial to the Crown Court sitting in Laganside on a date to be fixed and released on bail.
