Two people charged with theft and drug possession returned for trial

Cavan White (33) of Rossnagalliagh in Derry was charged with, on December 29, 2023 stealing £361 worth of clothing from House of Frasier.  He was also charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and possession of pregabalin. Megan Callaghan (36) of Clon Dara in Derry was charged with, on the same date, stealing the same clothes, resisting police and possession of pregabalin

Two people have been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on charges including theft and drug possession following a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrates' Court.

Cavan White (33) of Rossnagalliagh in Derry was charged with, on December 29, 2023 stealing £361 worth of clothing from House of Frasier. 

He was also charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and possession of pregabalin.

Megan Callaghan (36) of Clon Dara in Derry was charged with, on the same date, stealing the same clothes, resisting police and possession of pregabalin.

It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

Neither White nor Callaghan chose to call any witnesses and chose not to submit any statements.

Both were returned for trial to Derry Magistrates' Court on March 24.
