Full file in horrific Derry murder case should be complete by end of February

The full file in the case of a Derry man charged with murder should be complete by the end of February. 

Ciaran Murray (29) of Gortfoyle Place in Derry is charged with the murder of Montserrat Martorell Elias on August 24 last year.

Murray is also charged with rape and the arson of a property in Harvey Street on the same date. 

Today a prosecutor told Derry Magistrate's Court that the full file in the case should be ready for the Public Prosecution Service by the end of February. 

Murray's case will be mentioned next month for a progress report.

No date has yet been fixed for a preliminary enquiry.
