£5.2m boost for Derry and Strabane District Council welcomed

Economy Minister Conor Murphy has announced almost £5.2 million for Derry and Strabane District Council as part of a three year £45 million fund to help form Council-led Local Economic Partnerships

Sinn Féin councillor Sandra Duffy has welcomed confirmation of a multi-million investment in the local council by Economy Minister Conor Murphy.

Cllr. Duffy was commenting after the Minister announced almost £5.2 million for Derry and Strabane District Council as part of a three year £45 million fund to help form Council-led Local Economic Partnerships.

“This is another hugely welcome investment in this region by Sinn Féin Economy Minister Conor Murphy,” Cllr. Duffy said.

“This will enable the council to establish a Local Economic Partnership, bringing together central government, the local business community, universities and colleges, local development agencies and wider civic society.

“Working together, we can address areas of common concern and focus on improving the local economy and creating jobs and investment throughout the region.”
