Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) is asking the public to have its say on enhancing community safety and shaping the future of its services.
Views are being sought on the five year organisational plan to become more efficient and effective, whilst working in partnership with others, to help ensure that Northern Ireland continues to be a safe place to live and work.
NIFRS Deputy Chief Fire & Rescue Officer Paul Harper explains: “Seeking your feedback on our draft CRMP is a key point as we outline how we intend to shape the future of fire and rescue provision in Northern Ireland.
“The plan sets out who we are as a service, the work that we carry out, and the steps that we take to respond effectively to an emergency situation as well as how we try to prevent emergencies happening in the first place.
“It outlines how we propose to enhance community safety and to effectively manage risk across Northern Ireland. It provides supporting risk data and analysis to demonstrate how we will ensure that the right people, with the right skills, are in the right place, at the right time to help keep both the community and our Firefighters safe.
“We are committed to providing the most efficient and effective Fire & Rescue Service for the people of Northern Ireland, whilst ensuring we support the needs of all our employees who go above and beyond every day.
“This consultation will assist us in setting the direction for the next five years and help us remain a strong and resilient service; there for you when you need us most.
“It’s important that our community is part of the approach. We want to hear your views whether you are a member of the public, an NIFRS employee or one of our partners. Your opinion matters to us and we look forward to engaging with you”.
The closing date for the consultation is January 9. Consultation documentation, summary, FAQs, and consultation response forms are available on Consultations – Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (nifrs.org)
