Limavady man charged with possessing a machete with intent to commit murder

A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with possessing a machete with intent to commit murder.

Gavin Dalzell (28) of Kennaught Terrace in Limavady appeared charged with a series of seven offences.

As well as possessing the machete Dalzell is further charged with two counts threats to kill, improper use of communication network, two counts of harassment and a charge of persistent use of the communications network.

All of the offences were said to have occurred on January 5 this year. 

The defendant was connected to the charges and the case was adjourned until October 23.
