German cash machine
A German cash machine has been spotted in operation at the Centra on Derry’s Buncrana Road.
There has been much interest on Reddit about the installation of the European ATM.
Initially brought to the attention of the DerryLondonderry subreddit page by redditer babochew.
They joked: “Bloody foreign bank machines coming over here and taking our bank machines spots.”
Following this initial post, many redditors got in on the joke.
However, there was also concern raised about the need to be cautious with the new machine.
Redditor Heavy_Reputation_142 warned: “It could be a pin recording device put there by scammers. I’d definitely report that.”
But there seems to be much confusion as to why the German machine was placed on Buncrana Road.
However, whatever the reason may be, at the very least it will help the population of Derry learn at least four words in German.
One person commented: “As long as it doesn’t start printing Deutsche Marks.”
