Foyle Foodbank, a leading charitable organisation dedicated to alleviating hunger and supporting communities within the Foyle area, is excited to announce that it is rebranding as Foyle Network Foundation.

This transformation reflects the organisation's expanded mission and commitment to addressing a broader range of community needs beyond food assistance.

Foyle Network Foundation recognises that the challenges faced by members of the local community extends beyond hunger alone. By evolving, the organisation aims to create a more comprehensive support network that addresses various aspects of community wellbeing, including food security, poverty, money maximisation, and education.

Karen Mullan, Strategic Development Manager at Foyle Network Foundation, has welcomed the new rebranding: “Over the years, Foyle Foodbank, working closely with the Trussell Trust, has played a pivotal role in combating hunger within the community, distributing food and household packages to individuals and families facing food insecurity.

“However, as the organisation delved deeper into the root causes of poverty, it became evident that a more holistic approach was needed to create lasting change.

“The decision to rebrand was not taken lightly, and this change represents a significant step forward in the organisation’s evolution. The new name, ‘Foyle Network Foundation,’ reflects the connection of the various programmes and services that the foundation will now provide. This rebranding positions Foyle Network Foundation as a dynamic force for positive change, fostering collaboration and community development.

“The Pathfinder Programme, funded by the Trussell Trust, has enabled us to position the Foyle Network Foundation as one of the primary anti-poverty organisations in the north west. In the months and years ahead, Foyle Network Foundation will play a crucial role in leading discussions on how our society addresses chronic poverty, which affects numerous residents within our city and its surrounding areas.”

Denis McGowan, Chairperson of the Foyle Network Foundation added: “The new name pays tribute to the iconic River Foyle, a symbol which marries communities across the region and serves as a symbol of connectivity and unity.

“The Foyle Network Foundation will remain a compassionate and dedicated organisation committed to providing essential help and support in the north west by offering a network of assistance and resources, partnerships, empowering individuals and communities to face challenges, improve their wellbeing, and thrive.”

The rebranding of Foyle Network Foundation invites the community, partners, and supporters to join the exciting journey towards a more inclusive and resilient future and is poised to make a lasting impact on the wellbeing of individuals and families in the north west and beyond.
