Acorn Farm were there not just to display of innovative plans for the farm, but together with partners to guide participants through the captivating circular journey our city and district's food waste undertakes, from "Peelings to Plate".

One of the highlights of the event was the schools’ competition to compose a sustainable Planet Promise, underscoring the importance of environmental conservation and fostering a greener future.

All pupils enthusiastically embraced this challenge, with students showcasing their creativity and commitment to sustainability through their pledges.

The winning entry was drawn at random by none other than BBC weatherman, Barra Best, adding an extra element of excitement to the proceedings.

The lucky winner was Jamal, a P.6. pupil from St. Eugene’s Primary School who secured an ipad for his school generously sponsored by Natural World Products.

"We are absolutely thrilled to have won this prize," said Mrs. Carson. "It's a testament to the passion our students have for making a positive difference to the environment."
