A small group of protesters gathered outside Derry's Bishop Street courthouse as three men appeared charged in connection with a pro-Palestinian protest in the city earlier this month.

Jude McCrory (26) of Magowan Park, Lorcan Deeney (22) of Foxhill and Aaron Gallagher (28) of Rathlin Drive all in Derry appeared for a first appearance and were charged with one count of disorderly behaviour in Foyle Street on January 5.

A police officer connected the accused to the charge.

The case was adjourned until February 28 and all three left the court.

There was also a heavy police presence both outside and inside the courthouse during the brief appearance but there were no incidents.

The charges come after a protest on January 5 when a Palestinian flag was erected on a crane close to the Craigavon Bridge.
