Police find body in search for missing County Derry man Lee Johnston

The County Derry man as last seen in a supermarket in Cookstown.

Police investigating the disappearance of missing Coleraine man Lee Johnston have located a body in the Maghera area.

The 21-year-old, who has been missing for 11 days, was last seen in Dunmore Crescent area of Cookstown on 7th October.

During a renewed appeal on Wednesday, Mid Ulster District Commander, Superintendent Michael O’Loan said they were becoming increasingly concerned about his safety.

A 33-year-old man and 31-year-old woman who had been arrested and questioned on Tuesday by detectives investigating the disappearance of 21-year-old Lee Johnston were released on bail to allow for further police inquiries.

Officers remain at the scene. More details to follow.
