More than 60 firefighters work to extinguish blaze in Derry

More than 60 firefighters have been working to put out a fire in Derry.

The blaze at a residential and commercial property in Lower Clarendon Street in the city broke out on Monday morning.

An NIFRS spokesperson said people in the area are advised to close windows and doors while the incident is ongoing.

“The call was received at 11.58am today,” they said.

“Ten Fire Appliances are in attendance including two from Crescent Link Fire Station and three from Northland Fire Station.

“Appliances from Newtownstewart, Maghera, Magherafelt and Dungiven fire stations, along with a command support unit from Strabane, are also present.”
