Derry Magistrates Court heard today how a man cancelled his insurance policy by mistake.
Paul McLenaghan, 47, of Friel Close in Derry appeared charged with driving with no insurance on February 14 this year.
McLenaghan was stopped by police and claimed that he thought the insurance was in order.
When interviewed, he explained that he and his wife were on separate policies and when trying to cancel his wife's, accidentally cancelled his own instead.
He was given six penalty points and a £200.
