The walk will start at Sainsbury’s at 11.30am and it will end at the same location.
When you sign up for the Male Walk/Run you will receive a specially designed event t-shirt to keep as a souvenir of taking part in an iconic event for a worthy cause!
Foyle Hospice’s Noel McMonagle said: “With the help and support of our community we can continue to provide specialist palliative care services and counselling to our patients and their families.
“We want men of all ages to join us this year - and the course is fantastic and we want everyone to see the power of positive actions.
“The Male Walk is a very special event and we are excited to be back again with our new course which is only 5km this year, so lads, come out and help make a difference!”
“All proceeds from the Male Walk help towards the running costs of the Hospice and the specialist palliative services that we offer our community; every registration will make a difference to someone in our community.”
Foyle Hospice’s Dr Paul McIvor said: “As Medical Director I see the ever-increasing need for specialist palliative care on a daily basis and the passion and commitment of all Foyle Hospice Staff in delivering it.
“We are privileged to journey with and care for those in our community who have life-limiting illnesses helping them to live as full a life as possible to the end-these are our mums and dads, brothers and sisters, children and friends.
“We can only do this through the ongoing support of the special community here in the North West.
“That’s why I’m asking men in our community to join me in the Male Walk /Run in September.
“The female version always gets a tremendous turn-out and we men need to step-up and show that we can do it too.
“It’s a fun day out and a great way to spend time with your friends, dads, brothers and sons.
“Thank you and hope to see as many there as possible.”
