Derry Court: Trio returned for trial on assault and GBH charges

Man returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on 28 charges

Three people have been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a series of assault and grievous bodily harm charges.

Ethan Dorney (20) of Willy Gardens, Eoin McBrearty (22) and Chelsea McLaughlin (23) of Glenside all in Derry appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court today.

They were charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm to a female with intent on February 22 2020.

They were also charged with assaulting two females on the same date as well as a charge of criminal damage to a car.

McBrearty was also charged with attempting to inflict GBH to a man again on the same date.

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 

All three said they did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. 

They were all returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on September 11 and released on bail.
