Derry Court: Fine for woman (24) breached restraining order

Man returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on 28 charges

Derry Magistrates Court

A woman who breached a Restraining Order by turning up at her former partner's house has been fined at Derry Magistrate's Court today.

Cory Nash (24) of Fountain Hill in Derry admitted a charge of breaching the order on May 9.

The court heard that the injured party was at home at 3.30am when he heard knocking at his gate.

He recognised the voice calling his as that of Nash who he had been in a relationship with previously.

Part of the Restraining Order was that Nash was not to go within 100 metres of the man.

Defence solicitor Kevin Casey said that there had been 'no escalation' and the incident was more of a nuisance than anything else.

District Judge Barney McElholm said that the most Nash appeared to do was go to the man's gate.

He fined Nash £250.
