Derry Court: Donegal man (32) charged with sexual assault of female in the city released on bail

Man returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on 28 charges

A man from Donegal has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with sexually assaulting a female in the city on April 1.

Thomas McCauley (32) of Culnacille, Ramelton in County Donegal appeared charged with one count of sexual assault on a female on April 1.

A police officer connected the accused to the charges and bail was agreed subject to conditions.

McCauley was released on bail with a cash surety of £500.

He is not to enter the County of Derry except to attend court and sign at the PSNI Station.

He is also to sign with police once a week and to have no contact whatsoever with the alleged injured party or any witnesses in the case.

He will appear again on May 15.
