Derry Magistrates Court
An Eritrean national has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with sexually assaulting a female in the city.
Weldu Feshazion (31) of Argyle Street in Derry appeared with the benefit of an interpreter to face one charge of sexual assault on a female on March 26.
A police officer connected the accused to the charges.
The alleged assault is believed to have taken place in a local night spot.
Defence counsel Grainne McAnaney said that there was no suitable address available for the defendant so there would be no bail application at this time.
Feshazion was remanded in custody to appear again on April 20.
