Derry Court: Man returned for trial to crown court on attempted murder charge

A Derry man has been returned for trial to the local Crown Court on a charge of attempted murder.

Noel David Quigley (44) of Lisfannon Park in Derry appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

He faces a total of three charges one of which is the attempted murder of a man on April 17 2021.

He is also charged with attempting to wound the same man with intent to inflict GBH again on the same date. 

Finally Quigley was charged with assaulting the same man occasioning him actual bodily harm on the same date. 

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 

Quigley said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. 

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on April 19 and released on bail.
