Derry Court: Man (37) retuned for trial on burglary charge

Man returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on 28 charges

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a charge of burglary.

Gérard Patrick Mullan (37) of Bond's Hill in Derry appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

He was charged with a burglary of a premises and stealing a bottle of whisky on November 9 2021 and criminal damage to a door on the same date. 

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 

Mullan said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on March 30 and remanded in custody.
