A woman has been fined and disqualified from driving at Derry Magistrate's Court today for dangerous driving and other offences.
Lisa Morrison (35) of Clon Elagh in Derry admitted a series of charges relating to an incident on the Culmore Road on May 22 last.
The court was shown footage of the incident in which Morrison can be seen driving dangerously and being involved in an accident.
When police attended they found the vehicle with 'extensive frontal damage'.
Morrison walked away from police and a male in the car was sitting in the driver's seat.
The man told police he was driving but eye witnesses told police that Morrison had swapped places with him after the accident.
The witnesses said they believed Morrison was intoxicated and when police approached she started 'shouting and swearing.'
She refused to engage with police and would not take a breath test.
Defence counsel Stephen Chapman said it was 'fortunate' that no one had been injured in the incident.
Morrison was fined a total of £900 and disqualified from driving for 18 months.
