Concern Worldwide (Derry Group) are appealing for the people of Derry to assist them in response to the devastating earthquakes that recently hit southern Turkey and north-west Syria.

The death toll from the earthquakes has risen to over 41,000 people and injuring many more.

This weekend the Derry Concern group have opened a pop up donations office in the Millennium Forum.

People are invited to come along today (Friday 17th) and tomorrow (Saturday, 18th February) from 10.00am to 5.00pm to donate towards this fundraiser.

In addition, donations may also be made at the the Concern Bookshop, Ferryquay Street during the usual opening hours.

You may have seen and heard Concern personnel already active in the affected area on RTE News and Primetime.

Many if not most of the survivors will have been left destitute in what is already a poor region.

People have been left without shelter in freezing winter conditions and desperately need blankets, emergency shelter, food and clean water.

Your donations will be used to provide food and shelter to these people in their time of very great need and distress. Your support is greatly appreciated.
