Road markings have finally been put down on a number of Derry’s most congested streets after almost two years of campaigning.

Contractors from Transport NI were on the ground in the Rosemount area of the city this morning placing road markings on Park Avenue and a number of surrounding streets.

Commenting, independent councillor for the area Darren O’Reilly welcomed the move.

“The residents have been looking for this for over a year and a half and we’re delighted to see that Transport NI have taken these concerns on board,” he said.

“There will road markings on Park Avenue at long last, which will run down to Eden Terrace, which I’m sure many residents will be glad to see.”
