District Judge Bernie Kelly has issued an arrest warrant for a 26 year-old Kilrea woman so that she will get ‘free transport to court.’

Natasha Nalty, who is charged with four counts of assault on police, disorderly behaviour and resisting police, failed to attend court proceedings at Magherafelt Magistrates Court today (Wednesday).

A defence solicitor said he had received a telephone call from his client this morning telling him that her benefit money does not come in until later in the week, so she could not afford to pay for transport to court.

Nalty of Ardbann is accused of committing the alleged offences on January 31 at Greenvale Park, Magherafelt.

District Judge Bernie Kelly said: “I will issue an arrest warrant and get her free transport to court.”
