Police in Derry are appealing for information about an assault on a 14-year-old boy.
On Wednesday at about 9pm, the teenager was cycling across the Peace Bridge and was just entering Ebrington when he passed a group of four people, two male and two female.
One male ran after him and grabbed him by his left shoulder and attempted to jump on the stunt pegs at the rear of the bike.
The victim had recently broken his collar bone and this was very painful. He stopped and told the male that his collar bone was broken.
The victim attempted to cycle off again but the male again attempted to jump on the back of the bike.
The male backed off at this stage and as the teenager was about to leave, a female approached, grabbed his broken shoulder and punched him on the arm.
The teenager believes there was a sectarian hate motive behind the incident.
Information can be given on the police non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, it can be provided to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
