Staff at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry say they have again not been paid their full wages.

It is the latest in a series of salary mix-ups at the Western Trust.

Health chiefs have blamed the introduction of a new computer payroll system for the problems.

However, it has emerged that some staff have not received their full pay since January of this year.

A lot of the problems appear to involve the payment of overtime money.

Health Minister Edwin Poots recently revealed that 446 employees at the Western Trust did not receive their full pay last month.

“The anomalies occurred largely because the Payroll Shared Service Centre (PSSC) did not receive the claims for overtime, travel claims and allowances,” he said.

“This typically involved claims that were sent via e-mail to the incorrect email address or had been identified as spam by the BSO Firewall and therefore not sent through to the required network for processing.

“A range of steps have been taken to address these issues,” the Health Minister added.
