Brendan suffers from chronic epilepsy and said epilepsy often gets in the way of his daily life but he "will finish it no matter what"
Derry man, Brendan Donnelly, is currently hosting a fundraiser for Foyle Search and Rescue called the 30/30 challenge.
The 36 year old, who suffers from chronic epilepsy, said epilepsy often gets in the way of his daily life but he set himself a challenge and "will finish it no matter what."
Brendan explained: "I have done 30 press ups every day this month and plan to continue until the 30th (hence 30/30).
"I plan to get a bucket from Foyle Search and Rescue next Wednesday too, which is the final day.
"I will go around town randomly doing press ups and inviting people to join me."
Brendan has chosen to give all funds raised to Foyle Search and Rescue because of the vital work they do here in the city.
Brendan continued: "They do so much to save lives and sadly help find the people who have lost their lives and are truly the unsung heroes of the city.
"A boy from my school jumped the Craigavon bridge quite a few years ago and tragically lost his life. It took a very long time to find him but Foyle Search and Rescue didn't stop searching."
Brendan, who hopes to raise as much as he can for the charity, is no stranger to charity work.
Brendan volunteers in the charitable cross community all inclusive youth club, R.E.A.C.H Across, and has travelled to Estonia which he described as a very fulfilling experience.
He also volunteered with the Changaro Trust and travelled to Kenya twice to build homes for disadvantaged or homeless children.
Now, he has taken on this new personal challenge to help those around him.
Brendan added: "I would consider myself relatively healthy but I have struggled at points with this fundraiser. It is a challenge but for such a worthy cause. Any donations are greatly appreciated."
