Ambulance Service introduces new process in answering 999 calls

New response process introduced by NIAS

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) is this month introducing a new process in how it will manage 999 calls.

The new process is designed to identify those patients with life threatening conditions much faster than before enabling crews to respond to them as quickly as they can.

All non life threatening calls will receive an appropriate response based on an assessment of their clinical needs.
