David Henderson will be the guest speaker at the event in February.
Ballinascreen Historical Society is delighted to welcome David Henderson, owner and chairman of Tobermore Ltd, as guest speaker for their February meeting.
His presentation, “Tobermore – Paved with Success!”, will chart one of the most remarkable local business success stories of recent times.
From humble beginnings in 1942 as a family-run sand and gravel business, started by a few men with more than a little determination and a wheelbarrow, David will recount how the company evolved into concrete products in the 1950's and later into the internationally recognised Tobermore brand, with paving products now sold for domestic and high-profile commercial projects throughout Ireland and Britain. Along the way, he will highlight the challenges faced, the key decisions taken and the values that underpinned sustained growth and innovation.
Tobermore has won multiple awards for innovation, quality and sustainability, and continues to invest significantly in expansion and job creation.
This promises to be an entertaining and enlightening talk, combining local history, entrepreneurship and personal insight, and will appeal to anyone interested in business, community development and stories of ambition realised.
The talk will be held on Tuesday, February 3 at 8pm in The Workspace Community Hub, Draperstown.
Admission is free for members, with a £3 charge for nonmembers. Tea and coffee will be provided after the presentation.
Everyone is warmly invited to attend what is sure to be an inspiring evening reflecting on local enterprise, innovation and achievement.
