All Council cemeteries remain closed.
Council has updated information relating to its services.
"Please note that bin collections have been suspended for today - Monday, January 5, 2026.
"Due to ongoing snow and icy conditions, a number of Council services across Derry City and Strabane District continue to be impacted today.
"Please note that Household Bin Collections for today have been SUSPENDED.
"Arrangements will be made to collect them as soon as it is safe to do so.
"All Council cemeteries remain closed this morning and will only reopen once it is safe to do so. Burials will continue to be prioritised.
"Some recycling centres may experience delayed opening this morning due to weather conditions. Please be patient as services resume safely.
"Some community centres may be closed today due to the weather. Users are advised to contact their local centre directly for the latest information.
"The public is advised to exercise caution when using parks and open spaces and to stay updated with weather forecasts, particularly if travelling.
"The health and safety of staff and the public remains our top priority. While teams are working hard to maintain essential services, some disruption is unavoidable. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
"Further updates will be shared throughout the day."
