Number of schools in County Derry to close tomorrow due to adverse weather

A weather warning for snow and ice remains in place until midday on Monday.

A number of schools in County Derry will remain closed tomorrow (Monday) due to the adverse weather conditions.

A yellow weather warning remains in place until tomorrow midday with snow and ice having the potential to cause disruption to travel.

Among those schools to announce closures this evening are St Patrick's College, Maghera, Magherafelt High School, St Patrick's and St Brigid's College in Claudy and Sperrin Integrated College in Magherafelt.

Some primary schools in North Derry have also announced closures for tomorrow, including Cumber Claudy PS and St Mary's PS, Altinure.

NWRC has also confirmed that all scheduled classes will be delivered online/ remotely.

The Education Authority has confirmed its Transport Service plans to operate as normal on Monday however, there may be some disruption or delays to routes as a result of road conditions.
