nnie Shivers (P McVey Building Systems) and Rachel McClure (Hope Magherafelt) team up to launch the intense 'Riders & Striders' 24-Hour Blitz Challenge.
P McVey Building Systems in Newbridge is swapping steel toe boots for trainers as they prepare for their high-intensity annual charity event, the 'Riders & Striders' 24-Hour Blitz Challenge, aiming to achieve a significant fundraising goal for Hope Magherafelt.
Last year, the team completed 100 hours of activity over five days. This year, they are taking the commitment to a new level, condensing the target into a single, impactful 24-hour period.
The Challenge: 100 Hours in Less Than 24!
The goal of the 'Riders & Striders' Blitz is to log 100 hours of cumulative activity across five exercise machines (riding and striding) in under 24 hours. The challenge will kick off at 4pm on Thursday, December 18, and conclude at 12pm on Friday, December 19, right before the company breaks for Christmas.
Annie Shivers, PR Manager of P McVey Building Systems, emphasised the commitment to the community.
"Hope Magherafelt serves as a vital community hub, actively addressing key local challenges - from combating loneliness with their welcoming cafe to providing crucial support for families facing food insecurity. This 24-Hour Blitz is more intense than anything we've done before, but focusing our energy over a shorter period makes a much greater impact, especially for a cause as important to the community as Hope. We encourage everyone to get involved in whatever capacity they can, either by sponsoring the event or donating to this incredibly worthwhile cause.”
Rachel McClure, Project Manager at Hope Magherafelt, highlighted the difference the funds will make.
"The support from P McVey Building Systems is invaluable, particularly as we head into the winter and Christmas period, which can be the hardest time of year for many families. Every hour they ride and every pound they raise directly contributes to restoring hope, whether that's through a warm meal, a listening ear, or connecting someone with vital support services. We are truly grateful for their support."
Any contribution, large or small, to support the charity target is welcomed via their donation link on their website or scan the QR code below.
