Circle K announces Cash for Clubs campaign in support of grassroots football clubs in Derry

Circle K have launched a Cash for Clubs competition where grassroots football clubs in Derry can win prizes to support their club development.

Circle K, Ireland’s leading forecourt and convenience retailer, and title sponsor of the FAI Club Mark Programme, has today announced a Cash for Clubs campaign to support grassroots football clubs in Derry and across the Republic of Ireland.

As title sponsor of the FAI Club Mark—an award based on best practice in the governance, management, and administration of football clubs—Circle K is giving all Circle K Extra members a chance to win prizes of cash and kits for their local clubs between October 1 and March 29.

Circle K Extra is a loyalty programme where members can save up to 3c off per litre of fuel and get savings and discounts across food, drinks, car washes, and dispensed beverages in-store. If not already a Circle K Extra member, customers can simply download the Circle K app and assign their local club to their account to begin earning points.

Eligible clubs and customers will both be rewarded points for every individual purchase made in-store using the Circle K app. Additionally, points can be won by playing the daily game also available through the app.

The campaign will culminate with the Grand Finale in March where all clubs will be considered for the top prizes. The prizes for the finale include one club winning a grand prize of €10,000.  Four additional clubs will win a €5,000 prize while one club will win a VIP Training Experience with the Men’s national team.  Five clubs will win 3x sets of kit each for their teams clubs

In addition to the club prizes rewarded throughout the campaign, a weekly cash prize of €500 will be awarded to a Circle K Extra member with the most points as a thank you for their support.

Ciara Foxton, Managing Director of Circle K Ireland said: “At Circle K we’re very proud to support grassroots clubs through our partnership with the FAI. Our Grassroots Giveaway and Kit for Clubs initiatives over the past two years have had a positive impact on many clubs nationwide, and we’re excited to launch this new Cash for Clubs campaign which will benefit even more clubs across the country over the coming months.

"We strongly encourage all our customers to get involved to give their local clubs the best possible chance of winning, with the added incentive of possibly winning a nice cash prize for themselves each week.”

Ger McDermott, Grassroots Director, FAI said: “Circle K are a fantastic partner to the FAI. Their presence in communities nationwide means they understand just how important local football clubs are, and their commitment to growing grassroots football is evident in their title sponsorship of the FAI Club Mark programme.

“Circle K’s initiatives to support grassroots football have generated massive engagement among clubs around the country, and this latest Cash for Clubs initiative is the most exciting yet. Clubs and volunteers need support to continue their fantastic work in the community - I call on all club members, friends, and family to get involved and support your local club.”
