A Ballykelly man assaulted a member of bar staff in a Limavady pub after he was asked to leave due to his level of intoxication, a court has heard.
Aidan Hargan, of Shackleton Crescent, was convicted of common assault and using disorderly behaviour on licensed premises when his case came before Limavady Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday).
The court heard that police were called to a bar on the town's Main Street on September 20 2024 following a report of assault.
Hargan and two others had been drinking on the premises since 11.30am. At around 4pm they were refused service due to their level of intoxication.
The trio were asked to leave the premises by a barman however Hargan pushed him backwards.
The court heard that they eventually got up to leave and as Hargan was walking past the same employee he pushed him.
District Judge Peter King fined 29 year-old Hargan £300 and ordered him to pay compensation of £200 to the victim.
