A Limavady man has been fined after being convicted of possession of class C drugs and fireworks.
Appearing via video link before Limavady Magistrates' Court this morning (Wednesday) was Padraig Brolly, of Greystone Road.
The 26 year-old, who is currently in custody in respect of other matters, admitted the two charges of possession of class C drugs and possession of fireworks without a licence on April 6.
The court heard that police attended Brolly's home in relation to another matter and while searching the property they uncovered 15 Pregabalin tablets and 288 Diazepam tablets along with some fireworks.
During interview, Brolly claimed that the tablets were for his personal use and had an estimated street value of £60.
He stated that the fireworks were purchased in a local shop.
District Judge Peter King fined Brolly £600 and issued immediate warrants of seven days in respect of the fines.
