Feargal Lynn from Cushendall plays guitar, bodhran and tin whistle.
It has now become a tradition that Ballinascreen Historical Society’s May meeting is hosted by 'The Shepherd’s Rest' and takes the form of a relaxed social evening with supper.
Those attending on the evening of Tuesday, May 6 at 8pm are sure to enjoy the songs and stories from Feargal Lynn from Cushendall, accompanied by Janice Witherspoon, a storyteller from Glenarm.
Fergal was born and raised in the Glens of Antrim. Growing up “under the feet” of the people coming and going from his parents’ shop he was transfixed listening to the various characters of the Glens and the stories and tales they told each other in an era when nobody was in a hurry. He plays guitar, bodhran and tin whistle and enjoys the lesser heard song. He has twice been invited to participate and perform at the Conference on World Affairs in Boulder, Colorado. For the last 20 years he has participated in various television and radio programmes both nationally and internationally.
Janice (pictured below) has been working as a professional storyteller for more than ten years, entertaining audiences of all ages across England, Scotland and now back in her native County Antrim. She has a wide repertoire of legends and lore of these islands and, as a former gardener loves to tell seasonal and environmental tales.

Both of these entertainers are new to this area so everyone is cordially invited to come along and give them a big Ballinascreen welcome.
There will be a cover charge of £7.50, which includes refreshments, and it promises to be a most enjoyable evening.
As always, the most up-to-date information about activities, events and publications is to be found on the website, Ballinascreen Historical Society
