Over 900 premises affected by power cut in Ballykelly area

It is understood it will be at least two hours before power is restored

Power cuts affect hundreds of homes and businesses in Donegal

Over 900 premises are without power in the Ballykelly area tonight.

It is understood the fault is due to equipment failure.

It could be at least two hours before power is restored according to Sinn Féin Councillor Dermot Nicholl.

"I've spoken with NIE and currently over 900 premises are without power in Ballykelly and the surrounding areas," he said.

"They have engineers out trying to restore power and hope to have power back on by 11.30pm but that could vary."
