On Friday March 28, at 6:30pm, there will be a 'Walk for the Mothers of Gaza'’ from the village of Toomebridge to Lough Neagh.
Organised by the Mid Ulster Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign, crowds will assemble outside the Lock Keeper's Cottage at 6:15pm and the solidarity walk will leave along Toome Canal at 6:30pm.
A spokesperson for the campaign said: "After the disgraceful breaking of the ceasefire by genocidal Netanyahu, with support from his Western backers, Trump and Starmer, every corner of our island must take a stand against genocide. Last week as well, students in the US were having their civil rights trampled on, while Micheál Martin brought shame to every single one of us with his humiliating display in the white house.
"We must continue to stand up for humanity and to pressure the complicit governments on this island, to boycott, sanction and divest from Israel. This weekend holds importance with it being both Mother’s Day and Palestinian Land Day, commemorating when Palestinian protesters were mercilessly shot down by Zionists during peaceful protests in 1976," they concluded.
Participants are encouraged to bring friends and family, banners and placards speaking out against the genocide and calling for an immediate halt to arms to Israel.
