The Northern Health and Social Care Trust’s Bereaved By Suicide support groups provide a safe space and a listening ear for those in need.
Monthly meetings take place in Coleraine, Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Cookstown, and are open to anyone aged over 18 who has lost a loved one.
The groups are led by peer supporters and trained professionals who can help participants as they navigate their grief.
Encouraging those affected by suicide to attend, Clinical Bereavement Officer, Nuala McLoughlin said: “Our groups were founded to address the need for a dedicated space where individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide can openly share their experience and receive mutual support in a user centred environment.
“Whether your loss is recent or occurred many years ago, please consider coming along. You’ll find an inclusive environment where you can share experiences and connect with others who have walked a similar path.
“Groups are designed to provide a safe and confidential environment which will foster valuable connections, comfort and healing for family members, friends and loved ones.
“No one should have to navigate a devastating experience like this by themselves.”
The group meetings build on the Northern Trust’s one to one services, and offer an additional layer of support through shared understanding.
Whether through individual or group settings, the Bereaved by Suicide Service is committed to helping people through every stage of their bereavement journey.
If you think the service could make a difference to you, please register or request further information by emailing
